Paid Internship Progam (PIP)

PIP MEANS:

  • The purpose of the program is to increase the vocational skills and abilities of consumers who choose, through the Individual Program Plan (IPP) process, to participate in a paid internship.
  • The goals of this program include the acquisition of experience and skills for future paid employment or for the internship itself to lead to full- or part-time paid employment in the same job.

The Benefits of Internships:

  • Talent acquisition – Interns can assist employers in talent acquisition and workforce planning.
  • Increased productivity – Having an extra pair of hands to help out can greatly boost your productivity levels.
  • Improving retention rate – Interns that have previously gained experience at an organization are much more likely to stay at the organization for longer.
  • Give back to the community – Creating an internship program is a great way to give back to the community and show that you value their support.
