Money and Budget Management Overview

This part of the curriculum related Money and Budget Management are integrated throughout the program. There are two important factors involved in Money and Budget Management: practical money management and basic economic principles.   RCM may teach, instruct, educate and demonstrate how to make wise decisions based on needs before wants as it relates to Money and Budget Management.   It may cover how to gain the most value for his or her money while still enjoying personal satisfaction and long-range material growth.

Consumers may develop money management skills; count coins, create a household budget, evaluate income vs. expenses, make a list of bills for each week and month, purchase money orders, prepare bills (i.e., address envelopes), how to pay utility and other bills in person, developing a spending plan, opening and managing individual banking and credit accounts.

Consumers may receive financial guidance toward tracking expenses, identity theft protection, accessing tax professionals, private and public agencies that help consumers with credit, buying, layaways and savings.
